COVID-19 UPDATE FROM HAWES & CO.

We’ve shut our offices, but not our business

Dear clients

Following the Prime Minister's recent announcement on a public lock-down to stop the spread of Coronavirus, Hawes & Co has now temporarily closed all of its offices and our staff are all now working from home.

We're still open

Our doors may be closed, but we’re all still working for you. With everyone safely working from home we can continue to provide the same level of service to all of our clients through our usual phone and email contact details. Whilst we may not be meeting in person – you can be assured that we’re just as keen to get the job done.

Video viewings

Whilst we are no longer able to do physical viewings, there’s a great opportunity for us to be proactive in our thinking. As such we are now offering video viewings where possible. These will either be in the form of pre-recorded videos being sent to you or by arranging a live viewing with the seller or landlord.

Virtual property valuations

All of our valuation managers are experts in the local area and can give you an accurate idea of what your property could be sold or rented for without even stepping inside your property.

There are a number of ways that we can provide this service:

  1. Live video walk-through – we provide you with a video conference link to show our local expert around your property
  2. Recorded walk-through – send us a video of your property for us to evaluate
  3. Telephone appraisal – set up a telephone appointment with our experts to talk about your property in detail
  4. Desktop appraisal – provide us with basic details and our experts can give you an estimated price range

Buyers and renters are still looking

Although we are all at home doing our bit to stop Coronavirus, Hawes & Co are still agreeing sales and lettings deals with buyers and tenants, many who have viewed properties through remote options and are happy to proceed. We also have a number of pre-qualified buyers and potential renters who are registered with us who may be looking for a property like yours. As we know our registered clients and their needs’ we can be quick to match them with your property.

Planning for the future

Although this is a difficult time for everyone, we all know that we will return to the ‘normal’ pace of modern life once the lock down ends. At that point we expect interest and transactions to pick up very quickly. Therefore now is a great opportunity to take the time to research and prepare for your next move to get you ahead of the game.

London and proud

It is expected that this lock-down will create a real sense of community in London. Every day we applaud the key workers who are getting up and going out to protect us, the individuals who selflessly choose to help those less fortunate than themselves. Hawes & Co have been part of the local community since 1885 and are in the perfect position to be able to support the community and foster that ‘London spirit’. We are encouraging our staff to be part of this community spirit and support people in their local communities who may need additional help. Whether that’s keeping in contact with their own loved ones, supporting local people who may be living alone, local government initiated volunteering, helping the vulnerable with shopping or supporting charities set up to help us all through this unprecedented time.

Rest assured Hawes & Co will be playing our part in a safe and sensible way.

Please take care. Think about others and follow guidelines.

Max Chapman,

Director
